Buy With Someone on Your Side

Finding the right boat is only the beginning.

There is a lot to consider before committing to a purchase — the vessel itself, its condition, history, equipment, asking price, the broker, survey findings and the costs that may come after you take ownership.

As your buyer's advocate, All Boat Support provides an independent perspective throughout the process. The focus is on helping you make the right decision for you — including recognising when a vessel may not be the right one to buy.

From Finding the Boat to Making the Decision

  1. 01

    Understanding What You're Looking For

We start by understanding how you intend to use the boat, your experience, priorities and what you are looking for in your next vessel. This helps establish a clear brief and identify what is genuinely suitable.

  2. 02

    Vessel Search & Shortlisting

Identify and assess potential vessels based on your requirements. This can include reviewing listings, specifications, available history and market information before deciding which boats are worth pursuing.

  3. 03

    Preliminary Vessel Assessment

If you have already found a boat, All Boat Support can conduct an initial assessment before you commit to formal due diligence.

This can include reviewing the available information and history, liaising with the broker, physically viewing the vessel, meeting the broker at the boat, assessing its general condition and presentation, identifying obvious concerns and considering whether the vessel is worth progressing further.

This preliminary assessment does not replace a formal marine survey or mechanical survey.

  4. 04

    Broker Liaison & Negotiation

Liaise directly with the selling broker on your behalf, assist with offers and provide an independent perspective on pricing and negotiation strategy.

  5. 05

    Due Diligence

Once a vessel is considered worth pursuing, assist with coordinating the appropriate due diligence, which may include marine surveying, mechanical inspection and sea trial.

Where appropriate, All Boat Support can attend these stages and help you understand the findings and identify issues that may need further consideration.

  6. 06

    Post-Survey Review & Renegotiation

If inspections identify issues that materially affect the vessel's condition, value, suitability or economics, we can help assess the implications and negotiate with the broker where appropriate.

The objective is not simply to complete the purchase. It is to help you decide whether the boat remains the right purchase after the facts are known.

  7. 07

    Purchase, Handover & Beyond

Once the purchase is complete, All Boat Support can assist with the vessel handover and help you get familiar with your new boat.

We can also provide ongoing private boat tuition to help you and your family become confident operating the vessel, and offer our Vessel Care Program to help keep your boat maintained and looked after.

All Boat Support provides practical marine experience and independent advice, but does not replace the specialist professionals required as part of a vessel purchase.

Where appropriate, buyers should engage qualified marine surveyors, mechanical specialists, electricians, shipwrights or other relevant professionals.

My role is to help identify where specialist advice is required, coordinate the process and help you understand what the findings may mean for the purchase.

The Goal Isn't to Buy a Boat. It's to Buy the Right Boat.

A successful purchase isn't simply getting a deal across the line.

It's knowing that you have properly assessed the vessel, understood the risks and made the decision with as much relevant information as possible.

If the right decision is to proceed, I can help you navigate the process.

If the right decision is to walk away, I will tell you that too.
